(The jurors enter back in the jury room in order, Five staring with puffy eyes at Twelve's empty chair. Few others glance and sigh at Twelve's non-existant presence, but specifically Five keep his concentration on it. Soon, though, someone sits in the chair.)
Bailiff: (Five stands angrily.) He's been through all the tapes of the case and all of our evidence. All you guys have to do is tell him your opinions, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. 'kay? (Most of the jurors nod, but not Five.)
Twelve (This juror has a smug grin on his face. He's around thirty-four, been married and divorced, one son he can never see, but the smug grin just makes him look like he'd be an asshole.): Pleased to meet you all. (Five grits his teeth and sits back down.) I am well aware we are trying a fa-(Coughs) Dale Butler. As the bailiff said I am aware of what the case presents and I am ready to share opinion when I am allowed.
Nine: Just shut up and let Eleven go.
Eight (Wishing to elaborate): We've been going to each jurors and asking what their take on the whole situation is.
Twelve: And in three days you've only gotten to Eleven? How suiting for a future hung jury.
One (Mutters): Well, he's gonna be fun.
Twelve (Cunning grin): Say that to my face, babe.
Eleven (They glare at one another for a moment, Eleven simply talking to ease the tension): Look, like Six, I simply love the sex. With men and with women. And, just like Six, I don't believe homosexuality is wrong. Not just cuz of the sex, but of what's been said in here. You guys kinda...really opened my eyes t- (Twelve scoffs.)
Three: Is there something you'd like to say?
Twelve (Purses his lips, then grins smugly): Naw. Let the broad finish.
Four: Well, if you can count, which I bet you have attempted, then you can obviously tell you're next.
One (After a pause): C'mon, 'babe'. Time to speak.
Twelve (Purses his lips, leans back in his chair, takes a minute, and proceeds): Whatever you said to change Eleven's mind she must be easy as shit. Don't you realize who you're judging? Who's fate you're deciding? I don't care if Six or Eleven or Three claims the sex is great! What I care about, and what you should care about, is the affect something like this is going to have. If you let this freak go free then that sends a message to everyone that it's okay to be a fag. Riots will start along with rainbow protests, bombings, blood, mixed opinions, suicides; it'll be Hell.
You'll also be letting people who are fags come out. I mean, think about it. It's possible that the majority of the people in this world wanna fuck someone of their own sex, and when that happens there won't be any chance of us surviving. All the fags will be enjoying sex while the rest of the straight people fuck not for pleasure, but for kids.
Six (Reading off piece of paper Seven gave him): "You're insane!"
Twelve (Quick to respond): Well, then focus on the first part. We've been without fag problems for over a century, and now this little bitch it gonna waltz up in here sayin' it's okay? Hell no. We can't take this shit.
You guys got kids. What would you do if you woke up and your daughter was touching another girl's breasts or your son was sucking another boy's dick?
Eight: I'd accept him.
Twelve (Quick to respond): And then he'd die either from murder or suicide. (There's a long pause.) It's too late for a society like this to accept these fuckers. Give it up. The bastard's guilty.
(There's a very long pause. People want to argue with him, but it was true. It was very true. Ten looked down at his shoes as he began thinking about his son's femininity, holding back tears of regret.)
Two (He decides to break the intensity, but speaks lightly): Okay, we don't have all day. This is the last vote...and if this doesn't work we'll just be a hung jury. (Seven passes out pieces of paper to everyone.)
(They all are faced with their last chance. Their opinions have changed, but they have only two choices. This is their last chance to let this boy, Dale Butler, go free or be jailed until he is summoned to the chair.)
(Twelve slips of paper are handed over to the foreman, Juror Number Two, and as he reads them aloud all our waiting intently, none of them truly ready to hear the results.)
(Their backgrounds, I will admit, slightly affect their final choice on this. What is most unfortunate is that when they go out into that courtroom they won't be allowed to explain their reasoning for either guilty, non guilty, or being a hung jury.)
(Juror Two finishes reading the papers, and summons the bailiff to the room.)

The Final CourtCase: The Trial Part I
Judge: Next case.
Announcer: The People VS. Simon Hue, Caroline Lewis, and Arthur Fields. Thirteen counts murder in the first degree, one count assault with a deadly weapon.
Judge: How do the defendants plead?
Caroline: Guilty. (They all look at Caroline)
Defense Attorney: She means-
Caroline: Guilty.
Arthur: Caroline, what're you doing?
Caroline: Proving a point.
Judge: You can invoke your fifth amendment, Ms. Lewis. Are you aware of the statement you're making?
Caroline: Yes, Your Honor. We killed Craig Dawson, Fiona Lemmings, Sara Pennington, Bryce Simmons- shall I continue?
Judge: Why are you pleading guilty? And now?
Caroline:
The Second CourtCase: The Verdict
(The jury walks back into the courtroom, all eyes in their direction.)
(Greene watches them, sitting, his crutches to his side. He makes eye contact with Five, nervously. Five nods and sits down. Greene smiles, taking the nod to mean they acquitted him)
(Ms. Harrison watches them as well, cocking her eyebrow and looking at Four. Four sees her. Ms. Harrison grins, Four standing and taking his place. Ms. Harrison then looks at the judge who nervously darts his eyes from her to Greene. He knows Greene can blackmail him. He knows this could go wrong. But Ms. Harrison smiles, nodding, the judge taking a breath.)
(There is a silence)

Attention all Writers!
My friend Carter, !minewalrus42 (https://www.deviantart.com/minewalrus42) found a real neat new website/blog thing.
Two men, both with literature degrees, will critique any writing you send into them via email with no charge. They will give you their professional opinion on your work.
Well, there is ONE catch: They are completely blunt about it.
I recommend it. Carter submitted his works to their site and got their advice back in a heartbeat!
The link is here: http://bluntcritics.wordpress.com/
Please submit to them. They give genuine advice in blunt form. They are rather under appreciated.
Check it out when you get the chance! And you can submit anything. Essays, novels, crapp
